SUPPORT SEED

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

Genesis 8:22

Seed Time & Harvest

“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of host, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

Ma1achi 3:10

Psalm 84:11 “For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will be withheld from them that walk uprightly.

Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth: but thou shall meditate therein, day and night. That thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written
therein; for then thou shall make they way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Although it is the will of God for us to prosper, prosperity will only come when we have right knowledge of what to do. Right knowledge of what to do will be found in the context of the Word of God.

Dr. Kirkwood desires to help you understand God’s plan to prosper you, so that you can chart a course for your life and family. God’s instructions to Joshua were that he could be prosperous; he could be successful as he followed the plan in His Word.
Does prosperity mean we will all be millionaires? No, God does not promise everyone will be millionaires; if He did, it would be unfair because everyone does not want to be a millionaire. For some, a million dollars is not enough. Biblical Prosperity is living a fulfilled life with all your natural, spiritual, and emotional needs met in abundance. You and I will prosper based on our understanding.
III John 2. “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou, mayest prosper and be in health, even as they soul prospereth”.

You and I will prosper based on the development of our minds; we cannot believe beyond our understanding!
Luke 6:38 Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye meet withal, it shall be measured to you again.”
When I give in the present, it affects my future. We literally determine our future by what we do in the present. Many times, when we finally come to the realization that giving offerings is God’s plan to prosper us, it is often difficult for us to understand and accept.

Giving for Jesus’ Sake and the Spreading of the Gospel

Mark 10:28-30, “Then Peter began to say unto him, lo, we have
left all, and have followed thee. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father,
or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, but he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.”

This is a promise to those who give for Jesus’ sake and the
gospel’s sake. This scripture promises maximum return (hundredfold.) on every seed sown, Money that you give as offerings for the expansion of the gospel are like seeds. When you give offerings for the expansion of the gospel, for the spreading of the gospel, you are sowing seeds, that others can be blessed by the good news of the gospel. This kind of giving causes you to reap a hundredfold (maximum) return now; not something you will get when you get to heaven, but this maximum return is exactly what you need in your situation! God will cause you to receive a maximum return on whatever you give up for the kingdom of God. If you give up time with your family, time with your children to do the things for the expansion of the kingdom of God, He says He will cause you to reap the maximum benefit of that time you are giving up. Now, you know He is not promising you one hundred wives or one hundred children; that would not be a blessing. So, the hundredfold could include one hundred times as much, but it is not limited to one hundred times as much. It is God’s promise to cause your kingdom investment for the spreading of the gospel to reap for you the harvest you need.

This is such an awesome promise! God promises whatever you give up for Jesus’ sake and the gospel’s sake; you will receive the maximum return. This promise has been proven in my own life. We sacrificed a lot in the early days for our ministry. Prior to having the staff we have now, and ministry of helps, most of the things that were done, were done by my family. The cleaning of toilets, the hanging of the sheet rock, the ministry of the harvest, we did it all. Whatever I give up for the kingdom of God, I can expect God to give me maximum return on my seed.

Financial Faith Confession

Father, I know that you have a financial plan for the believer called Tithes and Offerings. At this moment, I set my heart to tap into Your financial plan for me. Satan will not rob me anymore in my finances. In the name of Jesus, by faith, I am at this moment planting my financial seed into the kingdom of God’s field. I am doing this because I know that this is a Biblical Truth, and I set my heart to obey the Word. Father, I also know that it is a Biblical Truth, that in return for my financial faithfulness, you are supplying all my needs and above my needs.
Because I have tapped into Your financial plan, I believe that You are raising up somebody, somewhere, to use their power, their ability and their influence to help me. In Jesus name, I hold fast to my confession in Your financial plan. Amen!

Giving a Debt Free Seed

Being in debt is not a sin; however, if debt gets out of control, it can cause tremendous problems for the believers. Our society thrives on unrestrained debt because of the income from high interest paid to lending institutions on debt. This is an area where the believer must get control and divine assistance so that debt is properly managed in order that stewardship over resources can be maximized. This does not mean that you should not use debt properly; for instance to purchase a house, a car or other necessary things and items that appreciate in value. Debt should be properly managed so that we are not living from pay check to pay check!

Several years ago, the Spirit of God led me to encourage our membership to rise above living in unnecessary debt. The lord gave me insight into the following passage of scripture as a means to release our faith for God to help each individual to get out of debt.

Matthew 17:24-27, “And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doeth not your master pa tribute” He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? Of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute” of their own children, or of strangers?Peter saith unto him, Of strangers, Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and thou shalt find a piece of money: that take and give unto them for me and thee.”

Here Jesus instructs Peter to go fishing and the first fish that comes forth will have a piece of money in his mouth. Peter was to take the money and pay the master’s debts as well as his own personal debt. The principle here is clear, because Peter was concerned about Jesus’ debt, God supernaturally provided for the payment of Peter’s debt. Throughout the pages of the Bible, we can see God working creatively to deliverer His people from debt.

I began to encourage the membership to sow a seed of any amount that was designated to reduce our church’s debts and believe for divine intervention to help them get from under debt. I encourage members to sow a seed releasing their faith for three things to happen in their lives as they sowed their debt free offering.

One, supernatural debt cancellation. Now supernatural debt cancellation is not you taking the bill and tearing it up, but it is you having favor with a creditor you owe and you agreeing together that the debt you owed has been cancelled or verily reduced.

Secondly, we release our faith for increase in our finances for the purpose of paying off our debt. As we give our debt free offering, we believe for God to increase us financially so that we can pay our debts off ahead of the contractual time.
Thirdly, we release our faith for God to give us wisdom and discipline in our finances. We need wisdom so that we won’t buy everything we see, hut have the wisdom of God and discipline in our purchases.

Devotional Confession

Father, I thank you for an opportunity to support the Debt Free Offering. As I sow my seed, I release my faith for supernatural debt cancellation, increase in my finances and the wisdom of God in my purchases. I thank you Father for favor with all of my creditors. I believe I have the wisdom of God to handle every debt with integrity. I thank you Father that promotion comes from you and I believe you are elevating me to a higher level of living. I believe I receive increase in my life. I thank you Father that when I shop, I shop with wisdom and discipline. In Jesus Name!

Special Giving / Project Giving

In both the New and Old Testament, the people of God were given the opportunity to give for special projects. Giving over and above our tithes for special projects positions the believer for several unique promises; one of which is the “abounding grace” where God is raising up others to use their power, ability and influence to help us succeed in life. Giving for special projects also gives the believer that fulfillment of meeting natural needs of others and being the cause of others giving thanks to God for His goodness channeled through them. Note the following passages of scriptures where these promises are revealed:

II Corinthians 9: 6-8, “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposed in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward our; that ye always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.”

I Chronicles 29:2-3, “Note I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God for things to be made of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and the brass for the things of brass, the iron for the things of iron, and the wood for the things of wood; onyx stones, and divers colours and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones, in abundance. Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house

Exodus 25:1-3, “And the Lord spake unto Moses, ayztig, %peak unto the children of Israel flint bring inc an offi’ ring: of event man that gizk’th it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering. And this is the off ring which ye shall take of the, gold, and silver, and brass,”

Exodus 36:6-7, “ And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing. For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.”

Nehemiah 2:20b, “The God of heaven he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build:”

Job 22:27-28, “Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows. Thou shalt decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee: Thou shalt decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.”

In the past few years, our ministry has been involved with an expansion project. It is our desire to build a Family Life Center in our city. The new complex will have a One thousand Seat Auditorium, Safe Plaza Family Fellowship and Fitness Center. It is our goal to dedicate all of our buildings without a mortgage. In the Bible, Capitol Expansions (building projects) were always financed with giving over and above the tithe. We have followed this principle and believe that it is the reason for our success in our building projects. This is the essence of Covenant Partner giving.

In early spring and early fall of each year, our families come together in small groups to understand the vision of the ministry concerning the building project. In those intimate meetings. the vision is explained and the families are asked to make a one-year weekly pledge commitment over and above their regular tithes and offering for the building project. It is with these pledge commitments that construction projections are made!

If a family joins the ministry after the Covenant Partner Campaign (pledge time in early spring) is over, they are given an opportunity in service to make a formal commitment to support the building project. Until this time of formal commitment, new families are asked to pray about what they should give and begin to participate as the Lord directs them. This weekly pledge commitment is over and above the regular tithes.

How Much Should I Give in the Weekly Offering For the Support of the Building Project?

Pastor Kirkwood asks every family to pray about their weekly gift for the building. Every family is asked to support the building project with an equal commitment, not equal gifts. Pastor Kirkwood understands that ever family is not at the same income level; therefore, he encourages families to support the building project equally intheir commitments.
